Press Pause December Challenge
December, traditionally, is a quieter month for job adverts as recruiters wind down before Christmas. With the changes in Lockdown and Tiers it is unlikely to be very different, so we are suggesting that you join us and take a step back to review what is working and what is not.

We kicked off with Friday’s workshop 4th December, “Creating an Employer Hit-list” but we will then spend December looking at other ways to find a role than just by completing hundreds of job applications. If you missed the session but would like to catch up with the information we shared, then Richard is producing a summary sheet. Email him if you would like to receive it, we will be reviewing how everyone got on with his first challenge next Friday at the Community Chat.

We will also take a deeper look at how using your LinkedIn can benefit your job search and how getting involved in a community online might be the breakthrough you have been looking for.

One thing I have done is to sign up for a daily email with various links to help me gather suggestions from a variety of writers on LinkedIn. There are often great suggestions and tips which can just give a fresh perspective which might make all the difference. Sign up here if you think that it might be useful, go to the bottom to subscribe – you can always cancel if it starts becoming a chore. Click here to see - LinkedIn

If you still want to practice application or interview questions this month then just pop back into some of the previous bulletins and find one that suits you. There are 36 weeks to choose from, all accessible from the bulletin bar on the SETAS website. Otherwise take this time to concentrate on those other ways to connect that we are sharing and only apply for job roles that really grab you.

If you have notice that your bottle recycling bin is filling up a bit more often than previously then maybe you need to have a quick check in with this advice on alcohol consumption. Its easy to let things slide and get into bad habits so make a point of doing a regular review and seek help if you need to. Horsham Wellbeing
