Online Adult Mental Health First Aid Training
This course is delivered online and delivers the same high quality courses online. Carried out on the MHFA learning platform, you will learn the same material and be given the same learning resources as you would if you were meeting us physically.
At least one in four people in the UK are affected by a mental health condition at some point in their life. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Everyone on an Adult MHFA course is taught a set of skills which enables them to support someone experiencing mental health issues.
Each and every MHFA course is delivered by one of our quality assured instructors who has attended the seven day instructor training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
Online two-day Adult Mental Health First Aid course (Accredited Mental Health First Aider training)
What will I learn on the two-day online MHFA course?
An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their mental health by guiding them to further support
The two-day online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider. Delivered by a mix of individual e-learning activities on the MHFA England Online Learning Hub and four live sessions delivered via the MHFA online platform.
Individual learning is a combination of videos, workbook activities, quizzes and reading, done at your own pace in advance of each live session. This takes approximately three hours.
The live sessions will be led by a qualified and approved MHFA instructor and will be a mix of slides, videos, group discussions and case study activities.
All pre-learning must be completed to receive your certificate.

The schedule for this course is as follows:
Session one (day one AM)
E-learn session 1 – self-learning, prior to live session one
Live session 1 – approx two and a half hours, 10:00 - 12:30
Session two (day one PM)
E-learn session 2 – self-learning, prior to live session two
Live session 2 – approx two and a half hours, 13:15 - 15:30/45
Session three (day two AM)
E-learn session 3 – self-learning, prior to live session three
Live session 3 – approx two and a half hours,10:00 - 12:30
Session four (day three PM)
E-learn session 4 – self-learning, prior to live session four
Live session 4 – approx two hours from 13:00 - 15:00
The course covers all of the same subject matter as the traditional 2-day course that is delivered in the physical environment.
All learners receive an MHFA manual and workbook, containing all the material they need to complete the course and continue learning as a Mental Health First Aider.

One-day online Adult 'Mental Health First Aid Champion' course
Our one-day course is a non-accredited overview which covers the basics of mental health. The content can be delivered flexibly, according to your requirements. We can deliver over one full day, two half days or split sessions over three or four days.
Course description
Delegates gain an understanding of common mental health issues and knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness.
All delegates receive a mental health first aid manual and workbook to support their learning.
This course is suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of mental health, to detect early symptoms of some mental health illnesses and the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing.

Half-day Adult 'Mental Health Aware' online course
Our half day course is an introductory four-hour session to raise awareness of mental health. It is designed to give:
What is mental health and how to challenge the stigma
A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
Looking after your own mental health and wellbeing
How to support someone who may have a mental health issue
This excellent four-hour course (including breaks) is designed for to help people develop a better understanding of mental health issues and maintaining wellbeing. The training is delivered securely and safely online via video conference software.

The format for this course is as follows:
Half day face to face course
Presentations, group discussions and workshop activities
We limit numbers to 25 people per course
Everyone who completes the course will receive:
A certificate to say you are Mental Health Aware
A manual to refer to whenever you need it
A workbook with a toolkit to support your own mental health
